Whilst feature walls have been around for some time, media feature walls are a relatively new idea that has recently surged in popularity, this has been accelerated by the fact that many new build homes are not built with traditional fireplaces or chimneys. Media walls come in all shapes and sizes, a lot of which are bespoke to your requirements and are built to fit perfectly within your space. Whilst media walls offer endless options for customisation, the basic principles of creating a media wall are the same.

Whether you are replicating a chimney breast or dedicating your entire wall, most media walls are created by building a stud wall either from a wooden or metal structure.

Stud walls are also a great way to hide the unsightly cables that come with modern technology, you will need to make sure that any necessary electrical wires and sockets are run into the wall before its completed.
